Electric floor warming is an effective upgrade for modern New Zealand homes, providing gentle, even heat beneath tile, slate, or natural stone surfaces. Warmup’s system turns chilly bathrooms, laundries, and living areas into warm, inviting spaces.
The system uses a flexible, ultra-thin (2.2–2.4mm), double-insulated, and 100% water-resistant cable that fits around any layout. Installed over subfloors or Marmox insulation boards, it remains completely hidden under tile adhesive or self-levelling compound.
Warmup has supplied undertile heating in New Zealand since 1994, testing every element both at the factory and during commissioning. Final electrical and thermostat connections require a registered electrician.
Designed for New Zealand’s 230V supply and AS/NZS wiring standards, Warmup’s Wetroom System—combining undertile heating, Marmox boards, and Ardex waterproofing—holds BRANZ Appraisal No. 774 (2019) for tiled wet areas.

Warmup has supplied undertile heating in New Zealand since 1994 — longer than most competing brands sold here — and was the first company in New Zealand to offer a Lifetime Warranty on undertile heating products. The brand is supported by a New Zealand technical team and regional distributors including Warmup Auckland and Warmup Canterbury, familiar with local construction practices, electrical regulations, and tiling requirements.

Upgrading your bathroom with Warmup is one of the most effective ways to lift your everyday comfort, backed by New Zealand’s first Lifetime Warranty on undertile heating and a BRANZ Appraised Wetroom System.
Warmup’s undertile heating element is double-insulated with a full earth braid, 2.2–2.4mm thick, and 100% water-resistant, using between 200–3000 watts depending on room size. Paired with Marmox insulation boards, the system acts as an effective waterproofing layer and reduces footfall noise and echo in larger tiled areas, in addition to improving heat-up time and running efficiency.
A: Yes. Because the thin heating cable is embedded entirely within the flexible tile adhesive or levelling compound, tile size doesn’t affect performance. Our technical team can help determine the ideal wire spacing for even thermal distribution.
A: With Marmox insulation boards fitted, floor tiles typically warm up in around 30–40 minutes, even over cold concrete. Without insulation boards, it can take longer.
A: Not really. The heating element itself is 2.2–2.4mm thick and fits within your standard adhesive layer or protective screed, generally adding no noticeable height to your floor profile.
A: Warmup’s own published guidance puts an average bathroom (500 watts) at roughly $0.50 to $0.75 per day, or about $15–$20 per month, using a thermostat at normal operating temperature.
A: Every thermostat in our range connects with our undertile wires. For wet areas, we recommend a digital controller with an active floor temperature sensor to manage heat levels safely.
A: Yes. Warmup’s Wetroom System — combining undertile heating with Marmox building products and Ardex waterproofing — is BRANZ Appraised (No. 774, 2019) specifically for internal wet areas finished with tile or stone, including shower floors.
